How To Choose
An AI content studio produces brand content — video, stills, motion, social cuts — with generative AI inside the production pipeline rather than bolted onto the end of it. The label is used loosely. Some studios rebuilt their process around it; others licensed a tool and kept the brochure.
This is how to tell the difference, and what to ask before you brief one.
What an AI Content Studio Actually Does
A traditional content studio prices work per asset, because each asset is made once, by hand. An AI content studio changes where the cost sits: generation becomes cheap, and the expensive parts become the brief, the art direction, and the approval chain.
That is the whole shift. A studio that has not moved its costs is not an AI content studio — it is a content studio with a subscription.
THE TEST
Ask what the eleventh version of an asset costs compared to the first. A real AI studio can answer that. A reseller changes the subject.
Six Questions Worth Asking
→ Which stages are AI-assisted? If they cannot name the stages, there is no pipeline — there is a tool someone opens occasionally.
→ Who holds creative direction? The answer should be a named human. Direction is the stage that cannot be automated without the work going incoherent.
→ How many revision rounds are included? In an AI pipeline a revision is a regeneration, not a reshoot. A studio still charging reshoot rates has not changed its process.
→ What is the licence status of every input? Models, reference images, voices, likenesses. This is the question that stops campaigns in legal review.
→ Can they hold consistency across a campaign? Character, product and brand consistency across many cuts is where weak AI work shows first.
→ Have they delivered in your category? Regulated categories carry disclosure and restriction rules that generic experience does not cover.
Those six separate studios from resellers faster than a showreel does.
Studio, Agency or Production House?
| Term | What it usually means | Brief it for |
| AI content studio | Volume production — social, versions, always-on | Many assets, many markets |
| AI creative agency | Strategy and concept as well as production | The idea, not just the output |
| AI production house | Execution at broadcast standard, usually to someone else’s concept | A finished idea that needs making |
The labels overlap and nobody polices them. What matters is which of the three jobs you are actually buying.
How PUNX Answers These
PUNX is an AI content studio in Makati — founded 2023, a team of 50-plus — producing for brands whose guidelines do not bend, including Procter & Gamble, San Miguel, Petron and JTI.
Generation runs on an AI pipeline. Brief, direction and delivery stay human, and a producer signs off before anything reaches a client. Every element carries a record of what was generated, what was shot, and which model produced it — see brand-safe AI production for how that works in regulated categories.
When Not To Brief One
A single hero film, work resting on a named director’s signature, or anything needing registrable copyright on the generated elements themselves is better served by traditional production. An AI content studio earns its keep on volume and variants. One asset, made once, is not the brief for it.
